What is an Art Residency program?

The program offers artists and other creatives to reside at our desired space to get creative in a different environment. We provide you with a home away from home, without the distractions of everyday life. We provide a residential living area upstairs and a studio downstairs which is split into two sections.

Icelandic, English

Where is the house?
Hvítahús is located in the former Krossavik harbour, just outside Hellissandur, a fishing Village on Snæfellsnes peninsula. Hellissandur has a population of about 400. There are buses to Reykjavik every day departing from Hellissandur, and the trip takes about 3 hours.

How long can I stay?
1-2 months. The residence time starts at first day of each month.

Which are the conditions?
Residence fee, travel costs, upkeep during the stay and materials are the responsibility of the applicant. Residence fee and availability can be consulted via email.

Which services are included?
Parking, Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels, electricity, hot & cold water, heating, kitchen facilities.

What is the deadline for applications?
Ongoing until all vacancies are filled.
