ARTIST RESIDENCY
THE HVITAHUS
Hvítahús is a residency program for artists and an art gallery. It's located just next to the Snæfellsnesþjóðgarður National Park. The program offers artists and other creatives to reside at our desired space to get creative in a different environment. We provide you with a home away from home, without the distractions of everyday life. The restored Hvítahús includes a fully equipped residency floor and a 30m² double-height studio/ exhibition hall and gallery facilities.

1-2 months. The residence time starts at first day of each month.

Artist from all over the world have enjoyed the Hvitahus Residency.
The tranquillity and the unspoiled nature surrounded by the astonishing landscapes and the glacier in the backyard makes it a perfect place for artists to create their art, whether you are a Painter, Graphic Artists, Musician, a Writer or any other creative.

I stayed during the months of March/April 2019 and found this residency to be one of the most fulfilling I'd ever had. The house itself and its location are incredible, perfectly suited for focused and committed work. The studio has a lot of space and light, making it ideal for any kind of visual art practice. The hosts/owners were of great generosity and helpfullness throughout my stay.
